Assia Fain, DMD, is a highly accomplished general dentist serving patients at Lakeside Family Dental in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. With her advanced education and years of expertise, Dr. Fain offers comprehensive family dentistry services to help improve the oral health of all those in her community.
Dr. Fain has not one, but two dental degrees – she received her first in Moscow, Russia, and her second Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. While in Moscow, she completed both an orthodontics residency and her post-doctoral thesis in orthodontics. Dr. Fain previously served as the head of the orthodontic department at the Moscow Center of Pediatric Dentistry where she helped children with cleft lip and palate. She moved to the United States in 1977, working as a dental assistant and hygienist while taking her board certification tests. After graduating with her second dental degree in 2002, she practiced family dentistry and completed a continuing education program in early orthodontic treatment through the American Orthodontic Society.
In 2008, she fulfilled her life-long dream of owning her own dental practice when she acquired Lakeside Family Dental. Committed to staying up-to-date on the most current advancements in dentistry, Dr. Fain attends over 100 hours of advanced training classes and lectures each year. This extensive experience and expertise ensures that her patients receive the most current and advanced treatment possible at their state-of-the-art facility.
Dr. Fain is a member of the International Team for Implantology, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Orthodontic Society, the American Association of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Cleft Lip and Palate Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society.
In her spare time, Dr. Fain enjoys spending time with her husband, Professor Vitaly Fain, PhD, who is a renowned specialist in artificial intelligence.

Since graduating from Boston University Dental School in 1983, Dr. Templer has kept up a continuous commitment to educating himself in his field, adding new skills, and staying current on innovations and technology.
He has completed the Postdoctoral Course in Conscious Sedation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center, External Postdoctoral Courses in Implant Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry and a Maxi Course in Oral Implantology. His other accomplishments include a Mini-residency in Implant Dentistry at Tufts University.
Dr. Templer is a member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society. At the Dawson Center for Advanced Dental Studies, Dr. Templer continues to hone the skills and principles of quality, successful dentistry, thorough patient care, and effective dental practice.

Mohamed Hassan, DDS
Periodontal Surgeon & Dental Implants
Is a Board-certified periodontist, and a Harvard faculty member in the periodontology department. Dr. Hassan graduated from Alexandria dental school in Egypt in 1992 where he practiced general dentistry for three years. In 1997, he received his fellowship in Craniomandibular dysfunction from Tufts dental school Boston, where he continued to finish his studies to receive his masters in dental science in 2001. He then received his DMD in 2003 and followed by his periodontology diploma in 2007, the same year he became a diplomat of American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Hassan is a former assistant professor in the restorative department at Tufts University where he served for eight years, during which he continued to complete his degrees from the same institution. After receiving his periodontology degree in 2007 he joined the faculty board of periodontology at Harvard dental school while working in several private practices in Greater Boston area.
Dr. Hassan is married with four children and resides in Quincy. He enjoys traveling with his wife Mona, who has PhD. in child development and teaches at several universities in Boston, and his kids to explore different parts of the world. He also practices swimming and other sports with his kids.
